It’s that time of year again. The sun’s out, air conditioners and fans are starting to work more and more, and many of us are excited at the prospect of being out finally after a tough year inside.

Here in Hawaii, we’re starting to see the usual influx of tourists flocking to the beaches and malls.
It all means that it’s time to get phones and camera’s out and take pictures to capture all the fun.

Here are some creative ideas to help you get inspired to create something different then your run of the mill selfies for your next social media post.

1. Bubbles

Not only do bubbles look great in pictures, but they’re a fun way to make others smile and bring out that inner the inner child in us all. If you haven’t before, try getting one of those big bubble makers and go make a scene at your local park or beach. The kids will love you and you’ll get some fun pics of you and your friends having a good time.

2. Silhouettes

A little harder to get, but they can be worth the effort. Plan on getting these either at sunset or sunrise and use a photo app that supports manual mode so you can get the exposure right. There are a ton of interesting things you can capture with silhouettes. Have fun with it!

3. Golden Hour Shots

Typically the golden hours of each day are an hour after sunrise and an hour before sunset. Bring some friends and your favorite bottle of white wine and make a date of it.

4. Wild Life

Actively seeking out and taking pictures of wildlife is a great way to get outside and enjoy nature.

5. Perspective Play

You can create all kinds of fun effect with perspective in photos. They’re quick and easy to setup. All you need is a little imagination. The internet is full of great ideas too, just do a quick search for perspective photo ideas.
